In Summer

We won the Buma Award 'Best original music in short film' for our score for 'In Summer'. 'In Summer' is a short fiction film about two Turkish sisters and their father in the midst of his migration back to their home country. The film reveals a brief insight in a domestic problem occurring in more migrated Turkish families of the second and third generation. Major Fifth got the opportunity to work outside the box. Inspired by Gustavo Santaolalla we composed a Dutch / Turkish score together with multi-instrumentalist Cengiz Arslanpay playing ney, duduk, kanun and vocals. Daan van Haren on guitar and mandolin, and Ted Loch providing vocals for a diegetic radio song. Many thanks to these heroes! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack:
